For those starting afresh by either being new to the ladder or have no map pack installed from pervious seasons you will need to download “Battlefield 2142 Season 6 Map Pack” located here - http://www.gamearena.com.au/downloads/d ... 6-map-pack
The season will run for 12 weeks bar any unscheduled patches or delays. If there are any delays the ladder managers will inform teams.
In season 6 we see the introduction of some new rules that will affect game play. Jihading is not permitted, also there are some fair use rules for “squad beacons” and “podding”, for a detailed explanation of the new rules please refer below:
5.9 'Jihading'
The action of 'jihading' is not permitted in any 2142 Ladder match. The definition of 'jihading' is as follows:
To apply RDX (from the Recon kits) to any moveable vehicle, Jeeps, APC Walker etc. and then to use the vehicle as a moving bomb, by jumping out and detonating or simply ramming into an enemy is considered to be a jihad.
5.10 ‘Pods and squad leader beacons’
Rule 1 – No player may use a squad beacon to get onto/into a position not practically accessible by foot during match play. If a player accidentally pods onto one of the these areas via a squad beacon then the player must jump off immediately or suicide if unable. Under no circumstances is the player to fire or deploy anything while in this area. If the beacon is legally placed as per rule 3 then players may use it to land in that area or any nearby readily accessible area.
Rule 2 - Players may use an apc pod to access any area.
Rule 3 - No player is to use squad beacon pods to bypass obstacles or to shortcut movement. This includes podding over walls, past fences or up levels rather than using stairwells or ramps. Meaning pods must land in the same open area as the beacon or to a lower nearby area. If a player does accidentally bypass an obstacle they must return to the beacon immediately prior to continuing, if they are unable they must suicide and respawn.
Rule 4 - Squad beacons may be placed from anywhere that is practically accessible by foot or apc pod during match play, this includes onto ledges or elevated areas if the player threw it from an accessible area. If the beacon is placed under these directions the squad beacon may then be used normally. No player is to spawn on a squad leader or beacon on an inaccessible roof or area if that player or beacon illegally obtained that position via the use of a squad beacon.
Rule 5 - Squad beacons cannot be placed in any location where it is unable to be killed due to an object or water impairing its destruction. If it is invulnerable to direct hits by artillery, grenades or bullets it is illegal

All Teams are asked to familiarize themselves with these new rules and any questions should be directed to Ladder managers through “The Arena”.
